Aan Coleman has 29 years of Landscape Architectural experience and a continued commitment to client service, design excellence, constructability, sustainability, and financial stewardship. Her early years with a design-build firm gave her invaluable experience that serves as a solid foundation for her “reality based” approach to the profession. As a result, Coleman & Associates projects are designed to be affordable, construction-friendly, well detailed, and able to withstand time and trends.

Aan has developed a team that continues to produce both award-winning and environmentally sensitive work. Her dedication and extensive experience is translated to all team members by unparalleled focus on the use of native and adapted plantings, tree and native vegetation preservation, and water conservation and rainwater collection systems. Aan’s extensive experience with site preservation allows Coleman & Associates projects to emphasize the natural resources of each individual site.




Jan Giles, ASLA, LEED AP

Jan Giles, ASLA, LEED AP

Principal and Partner

Jan began her career at Coleman & Associates in 1995 and now serves as Partner and co-leader of the firm, working from our San Antonio office. Jan’s extensive experience with a wide range of project types has allowed her to perfect her skills in tree and natural area preservation, xeriscape landscape planting design, water conserving irrigation design, and hardscape design. Her communication skills, documentation excellence, specification writing, and industry knowledge all contribute to her unparalleled excellence in service and product.

Jan manages all San Antonio work and significant company projects that demand her wealth of knowledge and leadership. She provides critical quality assurance to all company projects and leads the firms' construction documentation standards.

As a licensed irrigator as well as licensed Landscape Architect, Jan also leads our irrigation design efforts. Her extensive experience in irrigation design, rain water collection, LEED calculations for water conservation criteria, and her manufacturer relationships are extremely valuable to the firm and our clients.




Mike Fishbaugh, ASLA, LEED AP

Studio Manager

Mike has 16 years of Landscape Architectural experience and now serves as Studio Manager of our Austin office. His extensive experience in project management, site design, campus and park master planning, estimating, meeting complex construction schedules, construction documentation preparation, and construction administration is a huge asset to our firm and our clients. He also has experience in proposal writing, grant writing, and zoning code writing. Mike’s experience includes all facets of planning and site design from needs assessment to detailed planning reports, from utilities to plant material, writing proposals through construction administration.




Sara Wells

Marketing Coordinator
Office Manager

Sara serves as “central control” for our office, providing critical project, marketing, and client support. She is your primary contact for marketing inquiries and teaming opportunities. Sara’s experience with the RFQ process and background in graphic design are all strong assets to our firm as she promptly responds to and pursues marketing opportunities. Sara is also highly effective in client relations, interoffice communication, and vendor interactions.

After two project management internships with our team and previous work experience with the Wallace Group Civil Engineers, Whitney graduated from Texas A&M and joined our firm with a great deal of experience already. Whitney takes a great deal of pride in producing designs and design documents that are well coordinated, complete, and constructable. Her people skills, prompt attention to client needs, and ability to track complex transactions on her projects are all exceptional.




Russell Molenaar

Russell Molenaar

AutoCAD Technician

Russell provides our project managers with AutoCAD support as well as field assistance. His invaluable experience as a drafting technician for the City of Austin utility department has effectively increased the quality of our construction documents. His thorough site inspection skills are quite an asset as well.

Russell also provides Project Management support for our estate residential projects and others that require significant site observation time or fast pace on-site decisions.




Wendy Caffrey

Wendy Caffrey

Accounts Manager

Wendy manages the financial activities of the firm, assists in record keeping, generates invoices, and tracks time and expenses for all projects. She manages accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, and payroll.
