Coleman & Associates developed the Master Plan for Southpark Meadows, a 425-acre mixed-use development with shopping, dining, residential, and office space located on the south side of Austin. The retail portion of Southpark Meadows includes 1.6 million square feet of new retail and dining space. The gem of Southpark’s amenities is the ‘Grove.” The ‘Grove’ is approximately 5 acres and features 100 year old Oak trees that were preserved or rescued and relocated from areas on-site that were slated for building pads or parking lot. The ‘Grove’ houses multiple restaurants and includes open patio and plaza seating. The ‘Grove’ will also include three water features and a multi-level play area, all designed by Coleman & Associates. The highest honor award given by the Texas Forest Service in 2007 was given to Southpark Meadows for the extraordinary tree preservation efforts. These efforts included land planning to protect trees and a major relocation program which resulted in moving 8 majestic live oaks to common areas on site to be enjoyed by citizens for generations to come.
