Texas A&M University Kyle Field

Location: College Station, TX

Client: Populous & Texas A&M University

Size: 100,000+ seating capacity

The landscape and hardscape design for the renovated Texas A&M Kyle Field is the heart and pulse of the Aggie experience. This crowd-pleasing plaza is designed to accommodate over 100,000 people and programmed events on gameday weekends. Shaded, flexible seating areas were incorporated for the enjoyment of students and visitors the other 44 weeks of the year. The renovation included a total redevelopment of the pedestrian spaces between the stadium and adjacent thoroughfares. This space features repeating groves of Monterrey Oak and Live Oak trees with campus master plan paving patterns and lawn spaces for a cohesive and ceremonial relationship to the stadium’s architecture.

Coleman Associates teamed with friends-of-the-firm landscape architectural firm SWA Group. SWA Group was design lead along with Populous. Coleman & Associates collaborated in the design phase of the plaza and during the construction document phase, focusing on the planting and irrigation design documents.
